Punching Roll Formed Sections on a Press Brake - These Tools For Trunking

Although no material can be viewed in this set up, the interesting features concern the ‘twin’ punch heads in each tool and the location method using a ‘top loaded’ template bar. The ‘U’ section to be punched is end loaded through the tools which are required to punch seven pairs of tools along the base of the trunking section. These are also punched in the front loaded lid sections. The tools are freely adjustable along a tenon slotted bed and located in the correct positions by stab pins which are passed through the template bar into dowel holes in the tool bodies. This location method saves removing the tools from the bed. Normally unit tools would be located by a base dowel concentric to both axis, but this manufacturer needed to change tool positions and templates on a frequent basis.
